Those arms may be under, under you
I’ll take the South pockets gladly
Over the rocky cliffs that you leap
To peer over and not forget what feet are
Splitting threads of thunder over me
I’ll take the South pockets gladly
Over the rocky cliffs that you leap
To peer over and not forget what feet are
Splitting threads of thunder over me

alayne is sweet by nature. it is just a part of her to be kind to anyone and anything that comes into her path. that doesn't mean that she's not wiling to protect herself. if she feels as though she is in danger, alayne will do what she has to in order to feel safe. that being said she is a kind soul. she is the female others go to in order to care for their young. personally she has never had a child though she knows it is something she would love to do in the future. she is of child-bearing age but has never had a chance to breed and has been forced to focus more on surviving and finding a new home. there wasn't much room for distraction. now that she's found a new home she's more willing to extend herself to her dreams. like her coloring, alayne exudes light. she tends to care more about others than they care about themselves. she dislikes confrontation and tends to shy away from it. when in a crowd she will let others take a stand should they desire but she's only likely to speak out an defend herself when she's in a situation she can no longer control.
alayne likes her place to be in the background as a caretaker. she's not strong enough to lead but she is the perfect female to support her leader. she likes her place to be in the background, creating stability for her dominion. she wants to be of use but she knows that she's not right for a role of leadership. what she wants the most out of life is to be loved and to feel included in a family and she has felt that way ever since the disaster which lead to her finding the island.
likes •
nature, being kind, helping others, being happy, eating, mothering others, flirting, sunbathing.
dislikes •
big bodies of water, cruelty, harsh words, confrontation, getting hurt, being dominated, seeing others hurt, not being able to help.
weaknesses •
her willingness to put herself out there means she's more prone to get hurt. alayne is often the target of cruelty but she continues to make herself available for the sake of others and their desire to feel welcomed.
strengths •
alayne is kind beyond words and she's not afraid to extend a part of herself in order to make someone else feel at home.

alayne appears to be white in color though she is not a "true" white horse. when wet her true color tends to show. she is a lithe but petite female and stands just at the minimum height for her breed. though she looks similar to a child, alayne is a loving, mothering female. she loves foals and she loves to have a hand in rearing them, possibly because she's never had one of her own. she possesses a sturdy, grounded body with strong legs and a short back which puts all of her overall power into her legs. she is fairly muscular for her stature due to her passion for running which is further proven by the stockiness of her hindquarters and her high tail. all in all she exudes her angelic nature, befitting her name which means dear child.

history •
alayne was born in the lap of luxury in a high class arabian-focused stable. she was the child of prodigy of a expensive, award-winning stallion and an equally certified mare though alayne has never actually seen her father. enough of him arrived in a container that would lead to alayne's birth. she was conceived in the coldest manner possible and her life wasn't much more invigorating. alayne's mother died during a complicated birth in which alayne was salvaged from her dying body. after her embarrassingly dismal entry into the world, alayne was taken by a group of humans to be raised to maturity. she was bottle fed from a small stall behind a human's house until she had grown too large to be contained and was returned to the stable from whence she came. after her return she was placed in a stall with it's own separate running space, to be kept safe and secure from fellow equines that were often double, or even triple, her size.
as she passed the one-year mark in her life it was made obvious that she wasn't going to be getting much bigger. for being the progeny of such impressive animals, alayne turned out to be a total disappointment standing at a mere 14.1hh and coming in at a meager weight. she was determined to not be worth the money that was spent for her conception and was passed on as a pity gift to a retiring stable worker who then passed her on to his son who was as equally unimpressed with her as everyone else had come to be. she was put out to pasture and that was where she stayed for another four years. that was her inhabitance when the storm came. the winds pulled the fencing around her pasture down giving her the freedom to run and find safety. it was the first time she had ever really been challenged and alayne knew she had plenty to prove. she had been tossed aside and overlooked like the shortest member of a baseball team who was overlooked time and time again until they were the only viable choice left.
she dodged around trees and maneuvered across a large amount of land to outrun the rising waters until she finally had no where else to turn and had to take to the water for a chance of survival. alayne was one of the last few to make it to shore on the island. she roamed around for weeks as a rogue, looking for a place that would welcome her and suit her best and all seemed lost until she discovered angeltus. she was happy to be incorporated as the lower end of the totem pole and her caring nature lead others to begin leaving the equines most near and dear to their hearts in her care, the children. alayne loves foals and her caring nature makes her the perfect babysitter for any dominion. this new life on the island provided her with the chance to prove her worth, something no one ever gave her the chance to show.

-----alot can happen in a year. it always seemed like marissa found it out the hard way. first marissa learned her independence on her own. loosing your parents isn't the easiest thing to go through in your life. it's the kind of thing that changes you and changes the way you look at life. it can put things in persepective or it can blur everything around you to simply make no sense. marissa experienced the loss of both of her parents in that haze. she had walked around like a robot, doing things simply because she had to but never really putting her heart into it. after a while she'd gotten back to being her own self but there was still a piece of her that never felt the same again. she wasn't sure she'd ever feel as whole as she had back those three years ago when she had her parents. but that was in the past. though it hurt, the sting had dulled over time to the point where she looked like herself. you could never find two greater people. and even if no one else missed them, marissa knew just how much more dull the world seemed without them. as long as she remembered them and never forgot, loosing them would eventually not hurt anymore.
-----but if there was anyone who truly broke marissa, it was the one person who's name she swore she would never say again. it wasn't that she'd absolutely fallen in love with him, but so soon after her parent's death she'd really let herself trust him. marissa had been happy. they enjoyed spending tons of time together and at that time marissa hadn't had a care in the world about the fact that he was a celebrity or that people followed his every move with a camera, eventually catching her in a frame or two. she didn't know that her carefree relationship would give him everything he'd needed to drag her name through the dirt. things were picture perfect up until the surprise ending of the second season of the island when they had killed off his character. he should have known it was a possibility when they had shot three separate endings but marissa guessed that he'd simply assumed his character was too vital for the show to be killed off. after the end of the season, he'd become so incredibly angry. marissa hadn't seen anything like it and their relationship had been what suffered. suffered, hell the thing had died a slow and painful death. and when it was all over, he was there, in front of the cameras and the paparazzi, dragging her name through the dirt as if it had been her fault.
-----but marissa was through with that pain. that was why she was so completely reserved and hesitant with owen. she never would have believed she could trust another celebrity the way she had...him but there was just something about owen that drew her in. no matter how many reservations she had about trusting owen, it seemed like it was inevitable for her to open up to him somehow. she didn't trust him yet. truth be told she wasn't sure she really did want to trust someone like that again, but she was working on it. his persistence made her smile, and it was all so out of the blue. one day she was working and they'd met, and the next thing she knew he was asking her out and she found herself tempted to say yes. she hadn't the first few times. marissa had thought for sure that owen walker would have moved on to the next girl, or his 'girlfriend' for that matter, but she'd been wrong. she'd been very wrong. owen stuck around and he kept on trying. marissa found it admirable and though she was still skeptical, she was willing to give him a chance. she would hold on hard to her heart, but she would still give him a chance.
-----marissa turned off her computer with a smile before she rose from her chair. she walked into her bathroom and turned on the shower to let it heat while she searched her closet for an outfit. she grabbed a black blouse, a pair of jeans, and her most comfortable heels. she laid everything out on her mattress and turned her attention to the bathroom once again. she pulled off her t-shirt and shorts before she stepped into the shower. she bathed quickly, smiling as the hot water raced over her body. once she was clean she turned off the water and wrapped he closet towel quickly around her, securing it under her arms. grabbing a rag, marissa wiped the steam from the mirror, running her fingers through her hair once she could see her reflection. she made quick work of drying and styling her hair. once dressed, marissa quickly hopped in her car and made it to the club before she was late. "hey louie, how's it going tonight?" marissa asked the bouncer as she slid past the growing line at the door. "it's a little slow tonight babe. looks like it'll be a little dull." a slight flush came to her lips as she sauntered through the door and behind the counter. "now that i doubt." she whispered as she got orders and began dishing them out with expert precision. she was so caught up in work that she'd almost missed owen when he'd slipped onto a stool in front of the bar. "oh is that the word going around? maybe that's why it's picked up a little tonight." marissa replied with a smirk. she slid a rum and coke down the bar and gave owen her full attention. "what'll it be. when you sit at the bar you have to order something." she said with a smirk.
-----a loud argument caught marissa's attention. she looked down the bar to see two guys facing one another, so close their foreheads were almost touching. she rolled her eyes as curse words were tossed back and forth, confirming what marissa had hoped wasn't happening. "guys knock it off!" she called in an attempt to break them up from a distance. she groaned when she saw the guys still ready to get physical. god she hated fights. marissa hopped onto the bar and waved a warning to the bouncer before she hopped onto the customer's side of the bar and worked her way over to the guys. "enough or you'll have to leave." she said loud enough to be heard over the music. sadly it wasn't enough to stop the two guys. one second marissa was looking over the heads of the crowd for the bouncer and the next she saw a fist crack into the side of the other guy's face. "crap!" she cried, jumping back at the same time as the pair of grunting, angry men fell at her feet.
