I'm looking for a place to start,
But everything feels so different now.
Just grab a hold of my hand,
I will lead you through this wonderland.
Water up to my knees,
But sharks are swimming in the sea.

Bird is special. She will tell you so herself, just that way in third person. The filly is interesting for sure, though under all her "specialness" there is a sweet individual who wants nothing more than for everyone to like her and like everyone the same. Bird is sensitive, and rarely sensible. Her emotions are always on a roller coaster, one second she is giddy with excitement and the next she is crushed in a sadness. Whatever emotion she is dealing with is overcoming, she cannot compose herself for long before the sensation takes over. She is chatty and enjoys company, she seeks out new friends and experiences and despite her quirky ways she is independent and can compose herself for about two minutes at a time. Bird is the little kid in us all, the small part of us that doesn't want to grow up, except she embraces that all the time. It isn't always by choice, she gets conflicted sometimes in an effort to be "mature and normal: but it usually just ends in tears and her scolding herself for hours on end; Which only exemplifies her lack of stability and makes her even more upset, that is until a butterfly flits by or the wind brings the smell of water - and then she is of like a shot in another direction with what appears to be no memory of what just happened. She tries her best in most situations and can be trusted, once she is your friend she will be forever loyal - no matter how the cards might turn against you. She is quick to forgive, but a repeat offender will sour her she isn't a complete idiot. Beneath the childish exterior is a maturing mare who wants so desperately to take control but can't push the other bird out of the way. In short being struck by lightning didn't help her in many ways, she was unique to begin with, now she is just plain twitchy and nervous.

Bird is of Arabian decent and it is evident in her frame and mass, she is very petite which might trick others into thinking she is fragile. The 14.3hh individual is a dapple grey, she is greying at a steady pace the dapples are more prominent down her legs and over her shoulders and hipline. Her mane is thick and dark in color, long and wavy it is usually tangled; her forelock matches and spills down into her face, long and thick it is often in her eyes. The creatures tail is as thick and lighter in color, it however it isn't very long in comparison to her mane. The mare has a good amount of bone to her legs, strong hooves and weirdly thick skin for a grey. She is quite pretty through her head and neck, very feminine and a well put together individual. She has a few scars scattered over her from various occasions, the worst is a long gash on her withers from a fallen tree in the lightning storm.

history --
Bird was born to her outcast mother; the mare had a knack for getting kicked out of herds one that bird never fully understood. Her mother was her world, she was "momma" forever and for always, and despite Birds evident "special" traits her mother loved her as she should. The two bonded and were as any mother daughter relationship should be, if not better. They never seemed to fight and Bird didn't know what it was like to have someone be angry with her, as he mom seemed to have the patience of a saint. No matter the case the duo roamed the lands, they moved in and out of herds never staying long but it did allow for some interaction with other foals her age. Bird was unimpressed by most of them, she quickly learned being different wasn't celebrated by everyone, and that sometimes it made others mean. She learned to ignore it quickly and took to sticking by her mother's side more quickly which only made the problem more apparent. It didn't worry Bird too much, she knew they would never stay long anyways. She enjoyed the frequent travel, the change and adventure their lifestyle created. Little did she know was that her mother was a snitch twice over which made their "trips" more dangerous than originally realized.
Bird was two before things started to sink in really, in the sense that their trips had a pattern and purpose all of a sudden. She didn't let it bother her, she just went along for the ride with no interest in leaving her mother's side. The teasing didn't cease and it continued to act like water off a ducks back, the filly seemed unfazed. She was coming into her own, maturing into a creature much like her mother which attracted the eye of many, but she scared them away all on her own as soon as she tried to converse, those that didn't depart quickly instantly treated her differently. She didn't let it bother her, the mare pressed on in the art of conversation and interaction and grew to be quite capable. So when her mother was found out Bird wasn't the last to know, she stepped between her mother and the steaming stallion accusing her of treason and begged for mercy, exile and anything else he had to offer. It might have been her off kilter mannerism, evident fear or just luck but the lord sent them on their way with promise that if he ever saw either again he would skin them alive.
Bird thanked him and pushed her still shaking mother towards the exit, bouncing as she went Bird didn't understand the fear or pain in her mother's step. Just like that she had been burned again, her options for survival were running thin, not many herds accepted a snitch permanently, and when it was practically branded on your forehead it wasn't easy to hide. Bird wasn't worried about that, she had her momma and the world was theirs as far as she was concerned. What she didn't realize was that her momma's actions had wrecked these lands for her as well, and her momma was not going to be around forever. So they started a journey, one Bird didn't understand at all and protested to most of the way. Finally one day her mother cracked, she yelled at the filly explaining the mess that had been created and why Bird was never allowed to go "home". Bird was stunned for a moment, but as her brain added things up she nodded and smiled then pushed on once more. The two traveled in silence for some time, not certain where exactly the other stood it was like walking on eggshells. The journey itself wasn't terrible, they were used to travel and did it with ease.
Though being caught in a field with a few trees in an electrical storm wasn't their best option Bird knew they needed to get somewhere safer, but before she could turn and yell run to her mother the lightning hit. Her mother was the direct target; Bird watched in horror as it took the life from her mother's once beautiful body and then fell to the ground herself as it managed to travel through her as well. When the creature awoke 2 days later by some miracle she couldn't force herself to look at what had once been her mother, she moved away quickly, but never on emotionally. The nightmares started instantly, and have yet to stop. She traveled on, pushing towards Momma's promised destination in hopes that what waited for her might make things hurt less.

roleplay post --
In spite the herd instinct and safety in numbers default branded into the creatures subconscious, Khadence was enjoying the almost silence, the rain lightly falling coddled her as a mother should, the way her mother had. The chestnut creature didn't know where the passion for the precipitation had sourced, and despite it's often labeled oddity she carried on enjoying it. Her stride did not change, each step was even and well thought trough she was a balanced creature. Her Spanish blood made the step bold and her lighter quicker half made her light on her feet, contradicting to hear perhaps but watching her navigate the cliffs made it very clear. She was quick and concise, something she tried to carry into all aspects of her existence. The coppery creature wasn't ordinary, her essential persona and aura appear simple enough, though if you spend enough time with the creature, or are intuitive driven, Khade's conflicting thoughts are hard to miss. The elegant creature was quite skilled at leading conversations away from certain topics, or talking away from herself to avoid divulging too much. A clatter in the distance drew her attention, large caramel lookers peered up the path which still appeared bare. The sounds and vibrations in the cracked ground indicated otherwise, guarding her step her auds perked as she tried to identify the sounds before her. When the smell of other equine hit flared nares a sigh of relief passed over her, then the realization that conversation might arise. It didn't worry her, the chestnut mare just made a mental note, in all honesty she had a few questions about the lands she found herself surrounded by, but probably wouldn't end up asking. Wandering around and making her own map was more fun anyways, frame hesitated for a few steps. The rain trickle down over her motionless frame, she had yet to spot the others of her kind. Stepping forward once more she drew in a breath of composure and allowed her carcass to be at ease.
The first creature her mind processed was the stallion, his blanched pelt caught her eye instantly making it clear that this was not his natural element. Looking him over quickly as she drew nearer she noted his statue, he was large though not in a bulky way. He towered above her, though she didn't get to guess by how much as her attention was taken by the arrival of one more blanched equine. A mare this time, of a small build evidently Arabic of some kind. Khadence drew her frame to a complete halt, auds perked and shifting from one pale creature to the next. Simple expression played at her features, she didn't want to offend anyone with her body language before she got the chance with her words. The need to communicate washed over her in a less than subtle manner, though unaware of how exactly to present herself the chestnut wench held her tongue. Just for a moment. Her tone was quiet and polite, it warranted a response though wouldn't be offended if none materialized. A common greeting if you will in her bright tone.
"Good Morning, apparently the ideal time of day to travel these parts."
Frankly the creature was surprised that others were awake so quickly, though as the sun continued to rise it was evident that a more normal hour of morning had arrived without her consent. Optics looked from both mare to stallion, her gaze consistent and confident and the response received non-verbal or not said something that might help her in future endeavors. Long whipcord lashed out lightly at the rain rolling down her hind pistons, and she shook her tiara lightly despite her love of the rain.
